Cultuur en tradities in de regio rond Merano

De regio Merano en omgeving heeft een zeer rijk cultureel erfgoed en er vinden vele evenementen rond kunst en cultuur plaats. Naast de vele interessante burchten, kerken en andere historische gebouwen en bezienswaardigheden zijn er ook innovatieve complexen, zoals het openluchtmuseum archeoparc Schnalstal, waar het leven in de tijd van de wereldberoemde gletsjermummie Ötzi interactief kan worden ervaren.

En behalve vele historische bouwwerken is in Merano en omgeving ook veel hedendaagse architectuur te bewonderen, onder meer in de vorm van hotels en kabelbanen. Verder zijn er musea en galeries met eigentijdse kunst.
