Partschins/Parcines Trail of Legends

Family-friendly loop from Partschins to prehistoric sites on the Trail of Legends, via Saltenstein and back along the Zielbach stream, suspension bridge and Sonnenbergweg.

General description

The Trail of Legends is a mysterious circular walk for all ages, especially families. Along the route you encounter prehistoric settlement and ritual sites and discover places woven into local stories—cup-marked stones, caves and striking rock formations. A special mix of nature, cultural landscape and ancient tales.

Partschins bus turning area – Vertigen – Partschins irrigation channel path – Trail of Legends (Geadaweg) – Golderskofel – Saltenstein – Winklerhof inn – Sonnenbergweg – Partschins

The walk starts and ends at the bus turning area in Partschins. From here, head east along Gaudententurm Street and Roman Road, following trail 10B towards Vertigen as far as Niedermair Restaurant.

Continue on to the Partschins irrigation channel path. Along the channel, a path branches off to the right, signposted “Trail of Legends” (symbol: prehistoric hunter). The route follows the Geadaweg up to Golderskofel and on to the well-known Saltenstein near Salten, a striking rock formation linked to many local legends.

From Salten, follow the road briefly back towards Partschins to join trail 1 along the Zielbach river. Walking beside the water leads to Winklerhof inn. The loop then continues across the suspension bridge and along the Sonnenbergweg through apple orchards back to the centre of Partschins, where the walk ends.

The starting points of our hiking tours can be reached comfortably and in an environmentally friendly way by bus and train.
