A vacation for the whole family in South Tyrol

The vacation resort of Schenna/Scena above the spa town of Meran/Merano lies in the midst of the South Tyrolean mountains – a real vacation paradise for hikers and active vacationers, but also for families. Because a vacation in Schenna is not only cozy and relaxing, but also varied and exciting.

Above the village you can discover the most beautiful mountain trails and hut hikes around the peaks of the Sarntal Alps, Ifinger and Hirzer mountains. On the nearby high plateau Meran 2000 you can hike along comfortable panoramic hiking trails. You can then reward yourself with a “Marende” snack and a homemade juice in the many refreshment stops, such as the Mahd Alm in the Hirzer area, the Taser Alm on the Schennaberg mountain as well as in the huts of the Meran 2000 adventure mountain. On Meran 2000 you will also find the Alpin Bob toboggan run, which races down the valley for 1.1 km all year round. A worthwhile hike also awaits you at the Vorbichl adventure trail in Prissian/Prissiano. And after a hike to the lookout point “Knottnkino” in Vöran/Verano, you will be presented with an open-air cinema of a very special kind.

You want to learn more about the forests and meadows in and around Schenna? Then go with herbalist and hiking guide Elisabeth on a tour of discovery to discover the secrets of the world of wild and medicinal herbs.
