Weekly markets and specialized farmers’ markets enjoy increasing popularity in South Tyrol, including in Schenna/Scena and its surroundings.
At the
Schenna market at the Raiffeisen Square, exhibitors offer their farm products (cheese, wine, honey, etc.) for tasting as well as local handicrafts for sale. The Schenna Market always takes place on the second Thursday of the month in summer.
The
Schenner Markt with an array of local artisans and farmers offering their own high-quality products, will be held in August. Finally, there is the
autumn market, which will take place in October. Farmers, artisans and artists also sell their crafts and products during the festive
Törggele period, with various food stands offering local autumnal delicacies to visitors.
The weekly market in Meran/Merano offers local produce and regional specialties every Friday. The local farmers’ market in Meran is held every Wednesday and Saturday morning, with farmers from all over the Meran and Environs area offering fresh vegetables, fragrant bread and other regional specialties, from Alpine cheese to Zirbenlikör pine liqueur.
