Formerly used to irrigate the orchards and vineyards along the Val d’Adige/Etschtal Valley, the Waalwege trails leading along the centuries-old waterways offer easy walks for everyone.
The Schenner Waalweg trails leads from the Masulschlucht gorge above the village of Scena/Schenna through pine forests, orchards and pastures overlooking the Merano basin. Below Scena, the Maiser Waalweg trail leads through the apple orchards along the Passer river to Saltusio/Saltaus. Together with nine other Waalwege trails, the Schenna Waalwege trails forms part of the 80-km Meraner Waalrunde Circuit Trail.
