Leitenalm -Tour

General description

The roadway to the Taser has always been a classic for mountain bikers. After the construction of the forest road, which begins at the Taser, it is now possible to reach the extremely scenic mountain basin directly below the steeply rising peaks of the Ifinger and the Scheiber, by mountain bike.

Route description

This beautiful tour starts at the minigolf course in Schenna. From there, follow Pichlerstraße (look out for signs to “Taser”).

The climb is demanding but leads directly to the valley station of the Taser cable car. Continue uphill along the narrow paved road. At the next junction (left leads to Verdins), keep right. A short but steep section brings you to the next hairpin turn – turn right again uphill.

You'll then reach a left-hand bend, followed about 50 metres later by a right-hand bend. Just after that, you'll see a small parking area on the left. Continue along the road until you reach a sharp left-hand turn. From there, the trail climbs up to the wide alpine meadows near the mountain station of the Taser cable car, with a restaurant and holiday homes.

After that, ride a short distance along the hiking trail (past the little chapel and a house at the edge of the forest– please be considerate of pedestrians and push your bike if necessary). The trail leads into a forest road, which you follow uphill.

At the first fork, turn right. At the next junction, keep left– and follow the forest road to your destination, the Leiten Alm.

Description to arrive at destination

Drive to Schenna. Carry on past the bottleneck and continue straight at the next fork in the road (signed Taser), then turn right to the parking lot at the fire department.
