The Merano Foodie Factory chefs in Schenna/Scena create innovative dishes that reflect the Alpine-Mediterranean character of the Merano region. Ingredients from both cultures are used all year round for special dishes in restaurants and cooking classes. Alpine and Mediterranean products are the base of new creative and delicious dishes.
The Merano Foodie Factory is designed as a platform to showcase and at the same time initiate contact between the traditions of the Mediterranean and Alpine cuisine. Ingredients from both cultures are brought together at cooking classes and in special dishes at local restaurants throughout the year. Local food producers invite gourmet enthusiasts to discover regional products.
The Merano Foodie Factory consists of 3 pillars:
Foodie factories are local producers who grow and refine food locally.
Gourmet factories are gastronomic establishments that have at least one Foody Factory dish on the menu all year round. The guest will be handed out the recipe directly at the restaurant in order to recreate the culinary delights at home.
Factories to participate are workshops, such as cooking classes, where different Foodie Factory dishes are prepared and explained step by step by the chefs themselves.
