Look forward to the autumn and winter season in Schenna/Scena. The Taser cable car takes you up to heights full of spectacular views every day until the beginning of January, while well-maintained paths invite you to take leisurely hikes on the Schennaberg mountain. Go on a shopping tour with pre-Christmas flair or let yourself be pampered with a relaxing wellness treatment. Mediterranean delights in cozy farmhouse parlors, shopping with Christmas spirit, skiing fun for the whole family at your doorstep. Experience Schenna languidly: in November and December.
With the "Slow Mountain Schenna" promotion, Schenna extends its autumn season and several establishments remain open until the new year. Relax in luxurious wellness hotels, stylish guesthouses and traditional farms and enjoy South Tyrolean hospitality. So that hikers can take full advantage of the region's offerings, the Taser cable car does not take a winter break in November and runs daily from 9 am to 12 pm and from 1 pm to 5 pm. In addition, some wine taverns pamper their guests with hearty South Tyrolean specialties throughout the month. Those who want to enjoy the mild climate (in late autumn the thermometer often climbs above 20 degrees during the day) can go to the inns and taverns for "Törggelen" and, after a long walk with locals and other guests, end the day pleasantly with new wine, dumpling tris, and roasted chestnuts. Fun for the whole family is offered by the ice skating rink in the village center from 25 November 2022 to 8 January 2023. A real insider tip and the highlight during the cold season is the "Schenna Lights Up" series of events: every Friday afternoon, the shops, farm shops and craftspeople at the Village Market (Dorfmarktl) in the centre of Schenna invite you to shop until the evening hours. Food stalls and music round off the evening program.
Young and old winter sports enthusiasts will get their money's worth in the nearby, sunny and family-friendly ski area Merano 2000. From the Schenna holiday resort, it is only four kilometers away with its seven lifts, 40 kilometers of slopes, cross-country ski trails and a long toboggan run. During the Christmas season, the ski bus takes you from the center of the village to the ski area in just a few minutes, and the Merano 2000 cable car then takes skiers directly to the slopes.
