Located in an ideal panoramic position above the spa town of Meran/Merano, the village of Schenna/Scena is characterized by its scenic but also cultural beauty and diversity. Some of Schenna's most impressive sights include the 14th-century Schenna Castle and the Mausoleum of Archduke Johann and his family. The oldest architectural monuments include the Romanesque St. Martin‘s Church, built around 1200, and the original round church of St. Georg with its well-preserved frescoes. Also worth seeing are the old parish church and the centuries-old houses in the village.
