A Village Full of Unique Features

Marling is more than just a picturesque village nestled among vineyards and apple orchards – it is a place filled with stories, traditions, and unique experiences.
A special symbol of its connection to the region is the Marling Apple Crown, a beautifully decorated float that takes part in the Merano Grape Festival every year. This historic celebration, held since 1886, honors the harvest season and combines tradition, culinary delights, and conviviality.
But Marling has even more to offer: the impressive chimes of the bells of Marling’s parish church tell stories from centuries past, while the drinking water fountains provide hikers and visitors with fresh spring water. Even during the quieter winter months, you don’t have to miss out on regional flavors: thanks to the Tasty to go! initiative, you can still enjoy local delicacies along the Marling Waalweg – a perfect alternative when many traditional taverns take a seasonal break.
Discover Marling and its unique features – and be surprised by everything that makes this village so special!

Along the Timmelsjoch High Alpine Road, the “Telescope” invites you to see the mountains from a different perspective. Below the Scheibkopf, its architecture frames the peaks of Granatkogel and Hoher First, with the Alpine landscape unfolding all around.

A stop to take a breath, look a little further and let the scenery speak for itself.

Quite possibly our tastiest tradition here in South Tyrol: Törggelen. But do you know what’s traditionally on the menu?

Depending on the farm, the meal starts with barley soup or Schlutzkrapfen, our local filled pasta. Next comes a hearty platter of farmhouse sausages, cured pork, dumplings and sauerkraut, served with sweet grape must and young wine.
To finish, there are sweet filled pastries and roasted chestnuts.

Fun fact: many locals enjoy their chestnuts with fresh butter! Have you tried them this way?

Dorf Tirol in autumn? Pretty much a postcard. 🍂 Around 70 kilometres of marked trails lead through vineyards, orchards and diverse landscapes all the way into the mountains of the Texel Group Nature Park. The perfect season to explore the area on foot and enjoy the colours and atmosphere of autumn.

The Women’s Museum Merano was founded in 1988 from Evelyn Ortner’s private collection of historical clothing and is one of Europe’s oldest women’s museums. Today, around 8,000 objects tell the story of women’s lives and changing roles from the French Revolution to the present day. Clothing, everyday objects and personal stories offer a different perspective on history and make the museum a place for exchange and new perspectives.

The autumn days are getting shorter, temperatures are milder and wellness season is slowly beginning. ♨️ The thermal water from Naturns rises from around 200 metres below ground and is heated for soothing treatments. Combined with a sauna session, the contrast between heat and cooling creates a relaxing experience that supports regeneration and wellbeing
