Hike to Lazins Alm Alp in Pfelders

Lazins Alm Alp at the head of Pfelderer Tal valley is a popular and easily accessible hiking destination surrounded by an unspoilt mountain landscape.

Directions

From the car park at the entrance to Pfelders (1,622 m), follow the small access road into the village, which is closed to traffic. In the centre of the village, turn left and follow a narrow tarmac village road uphill. Here, turn right into the Lazinser Tal Valley (trail markers 6 and 8).

Above the village, a residential road takes you past the AVS „Bergheim Pfelders“ mountain hut and into an open larch forest. The tarmac ends here and a wide forest track with a firm gravel surface begins, alternating between uphill and level sections.

Cross the bridge over the rushing Faltschnal stream (1,740 m) and continue on a steady uphill stretch until you reach the inn (1,772 m). Following the Pfelders stream along the broad valley floor, continue further into the valley on the forest track (Merano High Mountain Trail). Finally, you reach the green meadows belonging to Lazins Alm Alp.

The Lazins Alm Alp (1,882 m), situated slightly higher up, can be reached via a short, steep ascent (20%).

Return to Pfelders along the same route.

The trail is suitable for strollers and wheelchairs.

War sturdy hiking boots, appropriate clothing for the weather and bring sufficient water and provisions.

• Coming from Meran towards the Passeiertal Valley, take the Jaufenstraße SS44 to St. Leonhard, continue towards Moos, take on the Timmelsjochstraße and continue on the SP114 to Pfelders

• Coming from the Timmelsjoch, take on the Timmelsjochstraße to Moos and continue on the SP114 to Pfelders

• Coming from the Jaufenpass towards St. Leonhard, take the Jaufenstraße SS44, continue towards Moos on the Timmelsjochstraße and continue on the SP114 to Pfelders
