Route description

The Hochmuth cable car takes you up to the Muthöfe farm group. From the mountain station, the trail climbs steeply for a short while to the Steinegg inn on the Meraner Höhenweg trail. Follow trail no. 24 to the left in a westerly direction. This section of the Meraner Höhenweg is called the Hans-Frieden-Weg. In approx. 1.5 h you walk up a slight incline to the Leiteralm (1,522 m). From the Hochganghaus, the Meraner Höhenweg trail takes on more alpine features. The path, paved with large stones in parts, continues past the "Hohe Wiege" viewpoint (1809 m) to the Tablander Alm (1,788 m).
