Schenna lights up
In winter, Schenna turns into
a sea of lights, with all kinds of
special events leading up to Christmas.
Experience the enchanting
light show "Lumagica" in the breathtaking
Gardens of Trauttmansdorff Castle in Merano! From
November 20, 2025, to January 6, 2026, thousands of sparkling lights will transform the gardens into a magical winter wonderland. Don’t miss this unforgettable experience for the whole family!
Enjoy regional delicacies and a festive Christmas atmosphere at the
Advent at Schenna Castle on November 29 and 30 as well as on December 6, 7 and 8.
Since the
Schenna ice rink remains open
from 14 November, why not take the opportunity to join in the skating fun? Forgot to bring your skates? No problem – rental skates are available right here! The food stall at the ice rink offers tasty snacks and hot beverages to keep you powered and hydrated.
Hiking
The
Taser cable car on the Schennaberg mountain conveniently connects to the hiking trails and the start of exhilarating high mountain adventures. It operates from
November 10 to December 8 and from
December 25 to January 6. Along the well-kept paths, inhale the fresh mountain air, while taking in the breath-taking scenery. Then it’s time for a rest stop and a bite to eat at one of the numerous
rustic taverns where refreshments and home-cooked specialities are available – in true South Tyrol style!
All families with children should note these dates:
Family Day will be held at Taser Alm on Saturday,
November 15 and 22. From 2-4 PM, there will be a free children's program with herbal educator Elisabeth Taibon Karnutsch.
The
Verdins-Tall cable car operates during the Christmas season from
December 26 to January 6.
