Magic Lantern images on skis in german language
A historical-style magic lantern lecture will be staged in the Deuster Hall of the castle. In german language. Registration required.
Through a theatrical presentation, the audience will be transported back in time. After an introductory address by historian Florian Trojer, journalist Patrick Rina will present images and texts related to the topic.
The Alpine Club's collection of magic lantern slides was assembled between 1898 and 1940 for alpine tourism and educational purposes. These so-called illustrated lantern lectures were intended to give club members an insight into the beauty of the Alpine world. In cooperation with AVS – Alpenverein Südtirol.
Approach
Bus numbers 1 (Trauttmansdorff) and 4 (Maia Alta/Obermais) depart from the Merano town centre as well as the central railway station.
