Heritage Days: From one gravestone to another..., tours in Italian and German

Entitled ‘From Tomb to Tomb’, the event takes participants on a tour past the gravestones and monuments around the church and through the historic cemetery. Along the way, fascinating stories from the past come to life: participants gain an insight into the lives of notable figures who found their final resting place there, as well as into little-known chapters of Merano’s history.

The German-language guided tours are led by Markus Gamper from the Merano City Archives and take place at 10.00 am and 3.00 pm. The meeting point is the Merano City Archives, Passeirergasse 7.

The Italian-language guided tours are led by Eugenio Valentini from the Merano City Archives and start at 10.30 am and 3.30 pm respectively. The meeting point for the Italian-language tours is also at the Merano City Archives, vicolo Passiria 7.

Participation in all tours is free of charge and no booking is required.

The event offers the opportunity to discover a significant part of Merano’s cultural and historical heritage and to learn about the stories of the people who have shaped the town’s development.
