Very Strange Music

In an age when algorithms constantly serve us up similar sounds through personalised playlists, when the sheer abundance of music paradoxically makes it harder to discover new sonic languages, and when shuffle functions and streaming services such as Spotify stand in the way of consciously listening to an album in its entirety this is precisely where our gatherings come in.

In a relaxed atmosphere, Federico Campana (composer and director), Cornelia Schöpf (director and member of a punk band), and David Torri (musician and sound artist) present selected musical pieces, briefly introduce their distinctive features, and then open up the space for pure listening. From Wendy Carlos to Romanian hyperpop, from Peruvian punk to Karlheinz Stockhausen, a 360-degree soundscape unfolds an open and vibrant exchange in an informal setting.
