Winter sports in Merano and Environs

Winter sports and other outdoor adventures await visitors to the five winter sports areas in Merano and Environs. The wide slopes and sunny fun parks are perfect for snowboarding, and the picturesque mountain trails are an ideal setting for cross-country skiing in the Alps. The untouched natural landscape of the area can be explored via ski tours, sleigh rides, or snowshoeing and winter hiking. Romantic horse-drawn sleigh rides are also an extremely popular activity perfect for couples and families.

In South Tyrol/Südtirol, a wide range of winter activities is possible away from the bustle of the ski areas, including ice climbing and ice skating. Ice skating rinks and natural ice rinks can be found both in town and in the surrounding countryside. On sunny late afternoons, guests may also go swimming or visit the sauna at the Terme Merano thermal baths.
