With no steep climbs but a unique
panoramic view, the Merano High Mountain Trail near Naturno/Naturns has much to offer. In good weather there are
distant views of the Dolomites, the
Brenta Group and the
Ortler massif.
The
Merano High Mountain Trail extends over 90 km at 1,500-2,850 m a.s.l. and can be done as a
multi-day hike, as well as in individual stages. It can be reached from Naturno on foot and by public bus, shuttle services or the Unterstell Cable Car.
The full trip around the
Texelgruppe takes four to six days. You should reserve accommodation at the huts in advance. Good equipment and physical conditioning is a prerequisite for hiking in
high Alpine terrain.
