Authors in Merano in Italian language - Meeting with Anna Foa
“Mai più”, a meeting with Anna Foa; moderated by Mauro Sperandio. Free entry.
An Italian historian specialising in the cultural history of the modern era and the history of the Jews in Europe and Italy. She has dedicated her career to historical memory, with a particular focus on the Holocaust, and has taught modern history at Sapienza University of Rome. In 2024, she published *Il suicidio di Israele* (Israel’s Suicide) with Laterza, for which she won the De Sanctis Prize in 2025 and the first edition of the Strega Non-Fiction Prize. In 2026, she published *Mai più* (Never Again), driven by the realisation that what we have experienced over the last two years jeopardises the heritage of values we have built around the memory of the Holocaust, and to reaffirm, now more than ever, a ‘Never Again’ that applies to all women and men, regardless of their beliefs or identity.
