Death Cafè

“Awareness of death encourages us to live” (Paulo Coelho). Giorgio Degasperi in collaboration with Mairania 857. Free entry.

A meeting to continue the discussion and debate on the last great taboo remaining in our society: death. Without pre-set objectives or topics, in an empathetic and convivial manner. In fact, more and more scholars are emphasising how cultures in which death has become taboo are less happy and less free. This is certainly a strong statement, but one that calls for ways and means to address this issue, or rather this destiny that we all share. That is why we invite you to participate in a circle of discussion and empathetic listening, to give us the opportunity to take a step towards coming to terms with the subject of death.
Facilitated by Giorgio Degasperi. A theatre director and systemic facilitator, Degasperi has been involved for many years in issues concerning community development from both an artistic and social perspective. The meeting is part of the Death Café network organised internationally according to the guidelines proposed by the website www.deathcafe.com, created by programmer Jon Underwood based on information provided by Swiss sociologist and anthropologist Bernard Crettaz, who provided the theoretical model for these events.
