Swan Lake tells the love story between Prince Siegfried and Odette, a princess transformed into a swan by the wicked sorcerer Rothbart. Amid grand court festivities, enchanted love scenes, spells, and deceptions, this timeless masterpiece brings to the stage all the charm of ballet and classical technique, telling one of the greatest love stories in the history of theatre. The timeless prestige and renown of Swan Lake are enhanced by the inspiring music of Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky and the remarkable inventiveness and expressiveness of Marius Petipa’s choreography, here reinterpreted by Marco Batti, artistic director of the Balletto di Siena. His choreographic and artistic genius culminates in translating the relationship between the human body and the movements of swans.
