Very Strange Music

Very Strange Music invites you to listen together and celebrates the art of listening, the art of hearing. In german and italian language. Free entry.

At a time when algorithms constantly play us similar sounds in personalised playlists, when the sheer abundance of music paradoxically makes it harder to discover new musical languages, and when shuffle functions and streaming services like Spotify hinder conscious, focused listening to an album in its entirety – this is precisely where our gatherings come in.

Very Strange Music invites you to listen together and celebrates the art of listening, the art of hearing. In a relaxed atmosphere, Federico Campana (composer and director), Cornelia Schöpf (filmmaker and punk band member) and David Torri (musician and sound artist) present selected pieces of music, briefly introduce their distinctive features and then open up the space for pure listening. From Wendy Carlos to Romanian hyperpop, from Peruvian punk to Karlheinz Stockhausen, an open soundscape unfolds in 360 degrees – a free, lively exchange in an informal setting.

We invite you to immerse yourselves together in musical worlds, to listen attentively and to discover soundscapes.
