The third floor is accessed via a modern adjoining building, in which product designer Harry Thaler and curator Simone Mair live with their three children. Here Harry has realised himself in design and from a loft of only 50m2 he has created a completely renovated dream loft, characterised by warmth, sustainable materials and its minimal character.
Light gives the loft a window front with a spacious west-facing terrace, which with its 20m2 is the extended outdoor living room. Here you can enjoy the sun until late in the summer and be fascinated by the sublime peaks of the Texelgroup Naturepark. The interior looks like a cocoon, as the floor and walls are smoothed tone on tone, which gives the rooms a sense of security. The living room also houses a few unique pieces by the designer: the round dining table and the floor lamp are 3D printed concrete objects and were specially designed for the apartment. Likewise the sink, which stands like a sculpture in the middle of the bathroom. The kitchen, which is equipped with high-quality, deliberately minimal and eco-friendly materials and utensils, is adapted to the red autumn colours of nature. A real eye-catcher is the wool-covered daybed, which invites you to read comfortably. There is also a selection of multilingual books on a sisal-covered step, which also serves as a shelf.
