In Meran wird am Ostermontag Geschichte lebendig: Das beliebte Haflinger Galopprennen auf den Haflinger Pferden feiert sein Jubiläum. Mit dem Sonderlauf „Bauerngalopprennen anno dazumal“ wird an die Ursprünge von 1896 erinnert, als das Rennen "zur Unterhaltung der Kurgäste" ins Leben gerufen wurde.
Was einst als ländliches Spektakel begann, ist heute eine professionelle Reitsportveranstaltung mit besonderem Flair geblieben: hier trifft Tradition auf sportliche Höchstleistung.

Con la corsa speciale “Corsa al galoppo contadina di un tempo” si ricordano le origini del 1896, quando la corsa fu istituita “per il divertimento degli ospiti di cura”.
Quello che un tempo era iniziato come uno spettacolo rurale, oggi è rimasto un evento equestre professionale dal fascino particolare: qui la tradizione incontra le massime prestazioni sportive.

History comes alive in Merano on Easter Monday: the popular Haflinger Horse Race, featuring Haflinger horses, is celebrating its anniversary. The special race, “Farmers’ Gallop of Yesteryear”, commemorates the origins of 1896, when the race was launched “for the entertainment of spa guests”.
What once began as a rural spectacle has remained a professional equestrian event with a special flair: here, tradition meets sporting excellence.
