The Ice Tower in Rabenstein/Corvara in the Passeiertal Valley

The Ice Tower in Rabenstein in the Passeiertal Valley is one of the most spectacular constructions in Europe. In the hole alpine arch there is no similar asset. There are constructions for an exclusive use for competitions, but it’s not possible to climb there on ice in the free time or when the sun went down – without risks. The Ice Tower in Rabenstein/Passeiertal offers various routes and 18 climbers can climb contemporaneously.

The Ice Tower is built up of a 25 meter high tower, which ranks vertically in the sky. It is a challenge for every climber to reach the peak of the tower. Other components are a 14 meter high barrel with a cross-section dimension up to 5 meter, or a wall, with a height of 15 meters and a broadness of two meters. All this elements are connected by horizontal components. Very difficult parts of the Ice Tower are the overhangs, with an aptitude of 57, 62 and 72 degree.

The construction is suited for professionals, but also for beginners. The Ice Tower is opened from December 26th, till the beginning of March (for groups on request).
