Glacier Mill in Platt/Plata

A 1.4 m wide and almost 3.6 m deep glacier mill, which was eroded by glacier water, by rotating circles of co-moving stones of local rock.

From the village of Plata the path n° 6 proceeds towards “Pianlargo” until a chapel, where the path n° 5 leads down to the glacial mill. Time to walk ca. 30min.

• Bus line 240 from Merano/Meran towards Moos/Moso, Pfelders/Plan

• Coming from Merano/Meran towards the Passeiertal Valley, take the Jaufenstraße/via Passo Giovo SS44 to St. Leonhard/S. Leonardo, continue on the Timmelsjochstraße/Via Passo del Rombo to Moos/Moso, continue until Platt/Plata

• Coming from the Timmelsjoch/Passo Rombo, take the Timmelsjochstraße/Via Passo del Rombo to Moos/Moso, continue until Platt/Plata 

• Coming from the Jaufenpass/Passo Giovo towards St. Leonhard/S. Leonardo take the Jaufenstraße/via Passo Giovo SS44, continue on the Timmelsjochstraße/Via Passo del Rombo to Moos/Moso, continue until Platt/Plata
