The Touriseum exhibition on the rapid tourism boom of the 1960s and 1970s in South Tyrol, continues.

As part of our travelling exhibition, the collected memories of contemporary witnesses can now also be heard in libraries throughout the region.

The stories provide insight into the decisions that led to the promotion of tourism in rural areas, the first encounters with guests that opened up a new role as hosts for women, and the friendly relationships with people from big cities that offered farming families a "window to the world."

Approach

Bus numbers 1 and 4 depart at 20-minute intervals from the Merano/Meran town centre as well as the central railway station.

Additional info

Almost all of the paths running through the gardens are wheelchair and stroller friendly; all stairs and grades over 8% are marked on the overview map. In the Visitors’ Center, manual and electric-powered wheelchairs are available for visitors, free of charge.
