Hike along the Sun Trail in Stuls

Easy and varied circular walk of around 1 hour 45 minutes, taking you across sunny slopes and through quiet, secluded woodland. The route starts at the car park by the church and is signposted as the “Sonnenrundweg”.

The sections of the route through the woodland are particularly suitable for snowshoeing in winter.

Directions

Start at the car park by the church and follow the “Sonnenrundweg” signs to the junction at Kofler Kreuz. Here, turn sharply left and continue along the road to the 7th hairpin bend. Leave the road on the left here and follow trail no. 14A to Morx Puite. Then walk downhill along the road back to the car park in Stuls.

The route is not suitable for pushchairs or wheelchairs.

Recommended equipment

In summer: Wear sturdy hiking boots, appropriate clothing for the weather and bring sufficient water and provisions.

In winter: Wear warm, weather-appropriate clothing, sturdy and waterproof hiking boots and, if necessary, traction aids such as microspikes or crampons. Walking poles can provide additional support on snowy and slippery trails.

• Coming from Meran towards the Passeiertal Valley, take the Jaufenstraße SS44 to St. Leonhard, continue on the Timmelsjochstraße to Moos. After Moos, turn right and continue to Stuls

• Coming from the Timmelsjoch, take the Timmelsjochstraße until just before Moos, then turn left and continue to Stuls

• Coming from the Jaufenpass towards St. Leonhard, take the Jaufenstraße SS44, continue on the Timmelsjochstraße towards Moos and further along the Timmelsjochstraße. After Moos, turn right and continue to Stuls

• Car park at the church in Stuls
