On the sunny mountain plateau of Hafling/Avelengo, Vöran/Verano and Meran 2000, located above the spa town of Meran/Merano in South Tyrol, hikers can find
numerous attractive routes and varied trails. Easy
hiking trails lead through larch forests and mountain meadows, past ancient churches and alpine lakes. Many routes are suitable for families with strollers. On the other hand, experienced hikers will find challenging
summit tours on the Ivigna/Ifinger peak.
The Hufeisentour trail and the European long-distance hiking trail E5 lead up to the mountain plateaus of the Tschögglberg Mountain between Bolzano and Meran.
Hiking without a car: The public transport includes buses,
cable cars and chairlifts for getting to the hiking trails.
Mountain inns invite hikers to fortify themselves on their sunny terraces with a typical South Tyrolean snack (Marende) with bacon, cheese and Schüttelbrot.
The mild climate and panoramic views of the mountains offer ideal conditions in both summer and
winter for a
hiking holiday in Hafling, Vöran and Meran 2000 in South Tyrol.
