Geochecker lovers take note: Geocaching is also available in Merano and its surroundings, in South Tyrol. On the idyllic Tschögglberg, the high plateau above Merano, with the widely scattered mountain communities of Hafling and Vöran, there are many gentle hiking trails for the whole family. Geocaching is a particularly intensive way to explore the forests and meadows: the combination of nature and cultural experience as well as treasure hunt turns even the most reluctant hikers into mountain lovers and adds excitement to the mountain tour.
The treasure - called a geocache - could be hidden under every stone, behind every spruce! Those who already know geocaching know: the enthusiasm for it is contagious. It's the tingle of anticipation when you set off on your search and have the coordinates firmly in sight. Every step is a little adventure, one step closer to a hidden treasure waiting to be discovered by you.
The cache is a container with a logbook in which the lucky finders sign in and geocaching enthusiasts diligently exchange information. The treasure hunters receive information on the location of the caches either digitally or analogue via a folding map. Information is available at the tourist offices on the Tschögglberg or at accommodation in Hafling, Vöran, Meran 2000.
