The Hafling-Vöran-Meran 2000 climbing area is a haven for
climbing and mountaineering enthusiasts. From the Mittager, Ifinger and Plattenspitzen Peaks there are fantastic views of the Ortler Group and the Dolomites to enjoy. Thanks to the
Meran 2000 funicular from Meran/Merano and the
gondola Falzeben from Falzeben/Hafling, reaching the high mountain trails is easy.
High up on the via ferrata above Meran in South Tyrol
The “Heini Holzer” via ferrata on the Ifinger mountain is accessible via the Falzeben cable car mountain station on the Meran 2000 plateau. The via ferrata across the rock face includes some exposed sections but is safely secured with steel chains. Strapped into their harnesses, fit children used to rope-climbing can also manage it. The final and most demanding stretch to the summit at 2,851 m, is reserved for the more experienced and adventurous mountaineers.
