Climbing in the mountain world of Merano 2000: summit hikes and mountain tours on the sunny high plateau above the spa town of Merano.

The hiking area Hafling-Vöran-Meran 2000 inspires sports lovers to go mountaineering and climbing with an exciting via ferrata and mountain tours. But also summit hikes are on the daily programme in the skiing and hiking area Merano 2000. The starting points of the tours are quickly reached: the sunny plateau with 360-degree views is connected by cable car to the spa town of Meran and by the Falzeben cable car to Hafling. Mountain tours to the “Ifinger” (2581m) or the “Mittager” (2422m) are particularly popular, offering impressive views of the Ortler group and the Dolomites. In addition to the mountain peaks of Merano 2000, the “Stoarnerne Mandler” or a hike to the “Kreuzjoch”, with starting point from Vöran, also prove their worth. Early risers can enjoy a sunrise hike. Deserted hiking trails, special light moods and the awakening of nature leave lasting impressions. Guided sunrise hikes are an insider tip. Equipped with good shoes and suitable sportswear, you are ready for the adventure. A local hiking guide provides all kinds of information about the flora and fauna of the area. At the end, a delicious breakfast at a hut or alpine pasture is a must.

The skiing and hiking area Merano 2000 is also a paradise for via ferrata lovers. There are several via ferratas and climbing tours in Merano and the surrounding area that are suitable for beginners as well as experienced climbers.
The via ferrata "Heini Holzer", built in 2016, is completely secured with steel ropes and equipped with steps. The 550-metre climb has medium difficulty levels (A - B - B/C). Certified mountain guides are happy to accompany you on this enduring climbing tour. A via ferrata set, helmet and experience are absolutely necessary. Access is via the Ifinger Schartlweg no. 18, which branches off from trail no. 3 shortly after the Merano 2000 mountain station.
Safety instructions: For the ascent of the “Ifinger” and the via ferrata, an early start and a good overall condition are required. There is no water and no escape routes along the ascent, so bring sufficient provisions. The use of complete and standard equipment (climbing harness, via ferrata set and helmet - possibly rental at Rent & Go at Merano 2000) and experience are required. Do not enter in wet or unsafe weather conditions.
