Trails of history

Discover nature, the history of the First World War and the tradition of smuggling.

This guided hike combines impressive natural scenery with a moving past. Join us on an impressive journey back in time through the Ortler area in the Stelvio National Park.

The tour takes you through the historic area around the Ortler and provides interesting information about the landscape, natural environment and cultural features of the region. A special focus is placed on the events of the First World War, which left its mark here – trenches, positions and moving stories still bear witness to this period today.

We also delve into the historical smuggling tradition of the border area and learn how courage, poverty and ingenuity have shaped people's lives for generations.

Destinations and exact routes are varied and announced upon registration.

Look forward to a varied hike combining nature and history – on the trails of times gone by.
