Long Night of Churches in Jenesien
Ceremonial Opening
4:55 – 5:00 p.m.
Opening bells of the “Long Night of the Churches”
The bells of the parish church ring to mark the beginning of the “Long Night of the Churches” and invite everyone to take part in the various points. As on all days, the church remains open for private devotion and silent prayer.
Courage tears down walls – courage builds bridges
Location: Parish Church of Jenesien (San Genesio)
Time: 8:00 – approx. 9:15 p.m.
The Phos Choir and “Vox tria” from St. Jakob/Laives, young voices from the Jenesien primary school, and five courageous individuals demonstrate how courageous it is to be brave.
Through the village in tandem… and much further in the mind
Location/Start: at the Schrann between 5:00 and 6:30 p.m. (!)
Shall we explore the village in pairs? The tandem – one child or young person together with an adult – can expect a varied walk with ten stations offering interesting facts, light-hearted moments, and reflections on church, faith, and community life.
Panorama at bell tower height
Meeting point: entrance to the bell tower
Time: 5:00 – 6:45 p.m.
Most people know it from the outside, but inside it’s a different story. With expert guidance, climbing the bell tower is already something special.
Hello Church, here we are!
Location: Schrann
Time: 5:00 – 7:00 p.m.
Children and young people are invited to create a rattling flag together – a very special art project!
The Way of the Cross to the “Paterwaldele” invites you!
6:45 p.m. start at the first station, 7:00 p.m. blessing prayer at the wayside shrine in the Paterwaldele
Thank you, dear God, for this day
Time: approx. 9:15 – 9:20 p.m.
The visitors of the evening event in the church are accompanied to the Schrann by the solemn ringing of the bells.
Gathering together at the Schrann
Time: 9:00 – 11:00 p.m.
What would a “Long Night of the Churches” in Jenesien be without a refreshing exchange of thoughts to end the evening? In a relaxed atmosphere, everyone can reflect on the day’s experiences and share what inspired, moved, or even stirred them – while enjoying culinary delights.
