Natural and cultural monuments in Meran and Environs in South Tyrol

Situated in a beautiful location above the spa town of Meran, the Tschögglberg high plateau invites you to take numerous short and long hikes that lead past many of South Tyrol's natural and cultural heritage sites.

The numerous sights in our surroundings are dedicated to very different themes. Starting with the sensational archaeological site of the glacier mummy Ötzi in the Schnals Valley, which can be visited in the Archaeology Museum in Bozen. On to the botanical gardens of Trauttmansdorf Castle with over 80 garden landscapes from all over the world, and on to the oldest conifers in Europe, the 2000-year-old primeval larches in the Ulten Valley. The Via Claudia Augusta and the frescoes of St. Proculus in Naturno, dating back to the 7th century AD, are among the oldest in the German-speaking world.
The imposing Dolomites are well worth a visit and have been declared a UNESCO World Natural Heritage Site due to their unique beauty. They are about two hours' drive from Hafling-Vöran-Meran 2000.

Those who not only travel to South Tyrol for the scenic beauty, but also want to understand the country and its people, are guaranteed impressive cultural experiences.
