To the Maiser Alm & Moschwaldwalm mountain huts

General description

This hike leads through the meadows and idyllic woods to the Maiser Alm and Moschwaldalm Mountain Huts on Meran 2000.

Route description
Your circular hike starts at the car park in Hafling/Falzeben (1,609 m). From there, follow trail no. 40A, which takes you via the Zueggsteig to the Chalet Zuegg. Then continue on trail no. 14 up to the Rotwand mountain restaurant (1,817 m). If you stay on this trail, you will eventually reach the ‘Wieser Schüpfl’. Here, turn right onto forest trail no. 17, which takes you over the Sinichbach stream to the Maiser Alm (1,783 m) and the Moschwaldalm (1,760 m).

After the two alpine huts, keep to the right and follow trail no. 51. After a short, steeper climb – about 15 minutes' walk – you will reach the Sinichbach stream again, which you will cross once more. The trail then leads you back to your starting point in Falzeben.

You can also walk the circuit in the opposite direction.
