Magical Walpurgis Night at St. Hippolyt (TESANA)
Ritual fires, ceremonies, incense and atmospheric sounds set the mood for the magic of the mystical Walpurgis Night at the power place St. Hippolyt in Naraun
At the prehistoric power place St. Hippolyt in Naraun, customs of the "Witches' Night" are celebrated to celebrate the returning forces of nature.
Please note that the moderation and songs during the event will be in German.
After a short walk together with archaeologist Hubert Steiner—meeting at 8:00 PM at the parking lot of St. Hippolyt and heading up to the hilltop—you will be immersed in the magic of mystical Walpurgis Night through a witches’ fire, incense, and atmospheric melodies.
For families with children, an adventure walk with herbal educators Elisa Lago and Maria Mayr is offered, starting at 6:00 PM, up to the hill of St. Hippolyt.
Host: Sissi Prader (Women's Museum Merano)
Featuring: drummers of the shamanic training group RAETIA; Michaela Preindl (leader of power songs); Anna Lena Pamer and Sibylle Luggin (whip artists “Goasslschnöller”);
Klara Wolfgruber (herbalist); Johanna Springeth, Barbara Grimm and Volker Klotz (PASUI); Karin Raffeiner (shaman).
Coordinator: Jutta Tappeiner Ebner
Jutta is a certified Kneipp health trainer and herbal educator with a focus on traditional customs (she is the author of “Lebendige Bräuche in Südtirol”), natural cosmetics, and Western incense lore.
Her mission is to preserve ancient herbal knowledge, combine it with the new, and pass it on.

Hubert Steiner works as an archaeologist for the Office of Archaeology of the Autonomous Province of Bolzano. A resident of the municipality of Tisens, he is dedicated to preserving and revitalizing the cultural and historical features that make Tisens unique.
