In South Tyrol, mushroom picking is regulated by provincial law and the following rules must be observed:
* mushroom picking is permitted only on even-numbered days of the month, from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
* residents of the municipality may collect up to two kilograms of mushrooms per person per day
* non-residents of the municipality may collect up to one kilogram of mushrooms per person per day
* mushrooms must be roughly cleaned at the place where they are collected and transported in rigid, open, and ventilated containers
* the use of rakes and hooks is prohibited
Non-residents of the municipality must pay a fixed fee of €10.00 per person per day in order to collect mushrooms.
