In the village of Lana and its surroundings near the spa town of Merano/Meran, hikers will find a wealth of possibilities in terms of easy hiking trails. Walks in Lana can be found throughout the municipality. Simple walks and promenades lead along the Sculpture Trail into the Ländpromenade, and into the wild and romantic Gaulschlucht gorge. Also worthwhile is the few kilometer-long Brandis Waalweg trail: a flat running panoramic path alongside the famous South Tyrolean water canals that runs along the mountain above Lana, ending at the Brandis waterfall. In Lana di Sotto/Niederlana, near the ruins of Brandis Castle, is the starting point for hikes to Ackpfeif and the panoramic hill of St. Hippolyt.
