The village of Marling is located on a glacial moraine hill above the spa town of Merano. With its privileged location close to Merano, Marlengo combines the amenities of the city with the benefits of the peaceful countryside.

Tradition & Brauchtum zu Pfingsten in Marling 🎺

Am Pfingstsonntag, 24.Mai, erwartet euch auf dem Marlinger Kirchplatz ein besonderes Erlebnis voller Südtiroler Traditionen . 🌿🎶
Nach dem Gottesdienst, ab ca. 09:30 Uhr, sorgen die Weisenbläser mit ihren feierlichen, traditionellen Melodien für eine ganz besondere Atmosphäre. 🎶⛪
Begleitet wird der Vormittag von den Marlinger Goaßlschnöllern, die mit ihren kunstvollen Peitschen-Schlägen das alte Südtiroler Brauchtum des „Schnöllens“ zeigen – eine Tradition, die seit Generationen gepflegt wird. 🍃

💡 Was sind eigentlich Weisenbläser?
Weisenbläser sind kleine Gruppen von Blechbläsern, die traditionelle alpenländische Melodien – sogenannte „Weisen“ – spielen. Die ruhigen und feierlichen Stücke haben in Südtirol eine lange Tradition und sorgen besonders bei kirchlichen Festen und besonderen Anlässen für eine ganz besondere Stimmung. 🎺⛪

💡 Und was bedeutet „Goaßlschnöllen“?
Beim Goaßlschnöllen werden mit speziellen Peitschen rhythmische Knallgeräusche erzeugt. Früher nutzten Hirten und Fuhrleute diese Signale zur Verständigung oder zum Treiben des Viehs. Heute ist das Schnöllen ein wichtiger Teil des Südtiroler Brauchtums und wird bei Festen und traditionellen Veranstaltungen gezeigt. Der laute Knall entsteht übrigens durch die enorme Geschwindigkeit der Peitsche – ein beeindruckendes Erlebnis zum Hören und Staunen.🧐

Above Marling rises the car-free Vigiljoch – a beautiful hiking area with stunning views, peaceful forests and a variety of scenic trails. 🍃🌳

The cable car takes you comfortably up to 1.438 m, where numerous hiking paths and panoramic views await. One of the most popular hikes leads to the little St. Vigilius church and the "Schwarze Lacke" lake. 🌲☀️
