The Rochelehof and his Cellars

Museum of wine-history

The Rochele Experience Cellar in Marling offers a one-of-a-kind insight into South Tyrolean wine tradition. First mentioned in 1652, the Rochelehof gained broader recognition thanks to a feature by Luis von Ulten in the TV programme Südtirol Heute.

Covering 200 m², the cellar combines historical artefacts, audio and film installations, and unusual stories – like the white fungus that led to the discovery of an old stone wine press.

What to expect:

- Meet symbolic figures like the Saltner, wine god Bacchus, patron saint St. Urban, and Archduke Johann, who brought Pinot Noir, Pinot Blanc and Riesling to South Tyrol.

- Try your senses in blind tastings held in complete darkness – a fun challenge even for wine experts.

- Classic tours are also available for those who prefer the lights on.

- And listen for the special moment when Liszt’s “Ihr Glocken von Marling” plays in the tasting room.

Awarded the title “Guardian of Farming Traditions” at the Bolzano Agricultural Fair, the Rochele Cellar welcomes groups of up to 12 people and school classes. Tours (approx. 1.5 hrs) are available by phone reservation only.

Marling Associations Introduce Themselves – Local Band of Marling🎺🎶

For almost 175 years, the Local band of Marling has been an important part of village life, providing music for concerts, church celebrations, processions and traditional festivals. 🎶🏡

From traditional brass band music to modern pieces, the “Marlinger Musig” always creates the perfect atmosphere. ✨🎼

Supporting young musicians is especially close to the band's heart. Together with the intermunicipal youth band, they pass on their passion for music to the next generation. 👧👦🎺
