Mountain farming has shaped South Tyrol’s landscape for generations. Especially on steep meadows, haymaking requires skill, hard work and close knowledge of the land. While modern machinery makes some tasks easier today, many steps still rely on careful manual work, keeping an important part of rural life and tradition alive.🌾

Ride one of the Alps' most iconic mountain passes. 🚴⛰️
With endless hairpin bends, breathtaking scenery and a summit at 2.474 metres, the Timmelsjoch is a bucket-list climb for road cyclists. It also forms part of the legendary Ötztaler Radmarathon, which takes place on 30 August each year and is considered one of the toughest amateur cycling events in the Alps.

Tradition in South Tyrol can be seen, heard and tasted. Especially in summer, village festivals bring locals and visitors together. They are organised by local associations. Regional specialities, traditional brass bands and a lively atmosphere are all an essential part of these celebrations. In this way, local traditions are kept alive and passed down from generation to generation. 🍻🎺
