Papin Sport: the bike rental point in Merano/Meran

Located near Merano railway station, Papin Sport offers bicycle rental and practical services for exploring the town and the surrounding cycling routes.

Papin Sport bike rental has locations throughout South Tyrol. The Merano station is located on Via November, right next to the train station, making it an ideal starting point for bike tours in and around the city.

Founded in 1979 in San Candido Innichen, the company has since become one of the leading providers of bike rental and service in Northern Italy. Papin Sport operates over 40 stations in Italy, Austria, and Germany.

The Merano station offers a wide selection of bicycles, including city bikes, mountain bikes, trekking bikes, children's bikes, and e-bikes. Customers can also rent helmets and accessories. In addition, the Papin Sport station in Merano offers luggage storage, making it a convenient starting point for bike tours.

A major advantage is the one-way rental option: For an additional fee, cyclists can return their bike to a different Papin Sport station. Free technical support is also provided during the rental period.

By providing modern bicycles and convenient rental services for visitors and locals, Papin Sport makes an important contribution to promoting sustainable mobility and cycling tourism in South Tyrol.

Public transport
From the city centre, the most convenient option is to board one of the city lines (1 or 4) to reach the "Meran, train railway station" stop.
Description to arrive at destination
From the piazza Teatro follow the marked bike path along via Carducci and turn right into via Speckbacher. Continue towards piazza Mazzini from there, you can reach the train station. Look out for the small red cycle path signs.
Parking
There is a spacious car park (Praderplatz) near the train station without reserved parking lots.  Attention: in a partial area there is a parking prohibition every tuesday of the year (small weekly market), while the parking prohibition covers the whole area every friday (main weekly market).
To the west of the main entrance, there is a small car parking area with 4 reserved parking lots for people with disabilities.

Bicycle parking spaces are located at the train station. Take care not to park bicycles and e-rollers carelessly. They can pose a danger to blind and visually impaired people as they create obstacles to safely walking along paths and finding entrances. People in wheelchairs and parents with pushchairs can also be hindered by carelessly parked bicycles. Please use the bicycle parking spaces provided.
