LanaLive - Kineret Haya May: Arsenal

JOY* painting workshop

„The true artist is an amazing, shining fountain.” — Bruce Nauman

For Kineret Haya Max, the flowing water is merely the visible edge of a deeper mechanism operating beneath the surface: an underground current of emotions and experiences that quietly gathers strength before breaking through. The fountain is not only water—it is light, reflection, and visible emotion.

The performance arises from a short residency in public space in Lana, as well as within the underground rooms of the Raiffeisenhaus. During this phase of work, the artist travels from her home in Israel—an area shaped by war. These are the waters she carries with her: memories, tensions, and historical and emotional layers that flow through her body and consciousness.

From this fountain emerges a question: What light is reflected in these waters? What light is present in Lana? And what arises from the encounter between a quiet market town in South Tyrol and a lived reality shaped by constant survival and conflict?
