Marlengo

Alpine-Mediterranean lifestyle above the spa town of Merano

Holidays in Marlengo, Home of Wine

Wine culture has always played a key role in Marlengo/Marling. Set above the spa town of Merano/Meran, the village of Marlengo boasts breath-taking views of the Ifinger peak and the Tschögglberg mountain plateau with its distinctive deep red hues — caused by the presence of porphyry in the rock face.

Due to its close proximity to Merano, Marlengo enjoys the advantages of an urban environment and the calm of the countryside. Rooted in local history but with an eye to the future, Marlengo has always balanced tradition and innovation, earning the European Village Renewal Award in 2012.

Marlengo and its environs boast an extensive network of hiking and cycling trails at three different altitude levels. There are leisurely bike trails and easy hikes in the valley, the twelve-kilometer long Marlinger Waalweg trail on the hillside, and the Marling High Mountain Trail at higher altitudes.

At numerous restaurants, inns and mountain huts in and around Marlengo, visitors experience friendly South Tyrolean hospitality and authentic local cuisine.
