From the Marlengo/Marling church square (altitude 363 m) follow the Via Tramontana street towards Lagundo/Algund as far as the Forst Brewery. Cross the main road and turn left onto the Via Birreria street before taking a right turn onto the wooden bridge crossing the Adige river (Etsch in German). Turn left and follow the road up towards the Venosta Valley.
The approximately 60 km tarred road follows the Adige, past fruit orchards against a picturesque setting of snow-capped peaks, fields and forests, villages and vineyards. The route ascends to Malles/Mals (at 1,099 m altitude) in the upper Venosta Valley.
The entire route, which can also be followed on the way down, has an altitude variance of about 700 m.
