Family cycling tour through the valley Vinschgau/Val Venosta from Marling/Marlengo to Mals/Malles.

Route description

From the Marling/Marlengo church square (altitude 363 m) follow the Nörderstr./Via Tramontana street towards Algund/Lagundo as far as the Forst Brewery. Cross the main road and turn left onto the Forststr./Via Birreria street before taking a right turn onto the wooden bridge crossing the Etsch/Adige river. Turn left and follow the road up towards the valley Vinschgau/Val Venosta.

The approximately 60 km tarred road follows the Etsch/Adige, past fruit orchards against a picturesque setting of snow-capped peaks, fields and forests, villages and vineyards. The route ascends to Mals/Malles (at 1,099 m altitude) in the upper Vinschgautal/Venosta Valley.

The entire route, which can also be followed on the way down, has an altitude variance of about 700 m.

Description to arrive at destination

At the Marling/Marlengo church square follow Nörderstr./Via Tramontana street towards Algund/Lagundo to the Forst Brewery. Cross the Etsch/Adige river and take the Meran/Merano – Venosta Valley cycle track.

Parking

On the public car parks in the center of Marlengo (next to the fire brigade and in the Traubenwirt's park) can be parked for free for 120 minutes (with parking ticket!). For a longer parking time parking tickets can be solved (0,50 € / hr), whereby two hours are always free.

Public transport

The bus line 212 goes direct into the centre of Marling/Marlengo. Also the trainstation for the line 250 to the valley Vinschgau/Val Venosta is near.
