South Tyrolean jam-filled Krapfen – a sweet autumn classic 🍂😋

Golden and crispy on the outside, filled with fruity jam and dusted with icing sugar: South Tyrolean Krapfen are simply part of autumn – and, of course, no traditional "Törggelen" would be complete without them. 😍

Want to try making them yourself? Here’s the recipe 👩‍🍳
For the dough:
200 g wheat flour
70 g rye flour
20 g melted butter
100 ml lukewarm milk
1 egg yolk
50 ml cream
10 ml schnapps
1 pinch of salt
Jam for the filling
Oil for frying & icing sugar

Knead all the ingredients into a smooth dough and leave to rest for about 20 minutes. Then roll out the dough thinly, add a little jam, fold over and press the edges together firmly. Fry in hot oil at 190–200°C for 1–2 minutes until golden brown. Drain on kitchen paper and dust with icing sugar.

And which Krapfen are your favourite: jam, poppy seed or chestnut-filled? 😍
