High Mountain Road of Marling – Nature & Views 🍃🌼🌳

Hike along the High Mountain Road of Marling and experience South Tyrol’s nature at its best! This scenic route leads you from one traditional farmstead to the next, through mixed forests 🌲, apple orchards 🍎, wide meadows 🌾 and under majestic chestnut trees – all while offering breathtaking views of the Burggrafenamt region ⛰️.

🗺️ Trail description:
Starting in Marling (363 m), follow trail marker 33 southwest along Bergerstraße past the inn Waalheim 🍽️. Continue uphill to the hairpin bend above Halbweg, then turn right onto the Marlinger High Trail (well signposted 📍).
The trail gently climbs and descends – mostly flat – through forest 🌳 and meadows 🌸, passing picturesque farms.
The highest point is around 780 m, before reaching inn Senn am Egg (698 m), where the main section ends.

From there, you have two options:
1️⃣ Descend back to Marling via trail 35
2️⃣ Or – even more rewarding – continue on a marked forest path via Josefsberg down to the Marlinger Waalweg trail 🚶‍♀️. This charming waterway path 💧 leads you through apple orchards 🍏 and woods 🌲 to the inn Waldschenke 🍷. From there, it’s just a short descent back to Marling.

🕒 Duration: approx. 4–5 hours
📏 Elevation gain: approx. 420 m
🥾 Difficulty: Easy & family-friendly 👨‍👩‍👧‍👦
🚍 Getting there: Bus line 212 🚌 or by car 🚗 – free parking in the village center (first 2 hours)

A perfect summer hike for nature lovers and view seekers!🌞

Hiking Tip in Our Surroundings 🌿🥾
Looking for a refreshing escape into nature?😉

Spectacle of Nature – the Partschins Waterfall 🌿🌊

🌈 From 10 am to 12 noon on sunny days, the fine mist shimmers in every color of the rainbow – a true natural wonder!
💚 The waterfall creates its own microclimate with crystal-clear water and top air quality – beneficial for the lungs and upper airways.

• Duration: approx. 2 h
• Distance: 5.8 km (round trip)
• Elevation gain/loss: ±474 m
