The view looks out on the the Hirzer and Inger peaks of the Sarntal Alps, the fertile valley, the wooded slopes and the Nörderberg Mountain with the Vigiljoch plateau, the mountains of the Ultental Valley and the Vinschgau Valley, with the snow-capped 3,000 mpeaks of the Ortler Mountain. The best times of the year for hiking along the slopes of the Sonnenberg is in spring and autumn.
From the centre of Naturns, head towards St. Prokulus Church and turn into St. Prokulus Straße just before you reach it. At the Hotel Belvedere, follow the signs for the “Sonnenberger Panoramaweg” (initially trail no. 39), passing the Weinberghof snack bar, the restored Runster Mill and a few farms. From the Weitgrub farm, follow trail no. 91 towards Rabland/Partschins. The trail runs mostly at a constant altitude with a few slightly steeper ascents and descents, which are made easier in places by steps and secured with handrails in slightly exposed sections.
