From the picturesque village of Saltaus, the Hirzer cable cars take you up to 1,980 metres from April to November. In just a few minutes, two cable cars carry you over a total ascent of 1,490 vertical metres.
Ample parking is available at the valley station. You can, of course, also board or leave the cable car at the middle station. Once you arrive at the mountain station at Klammeben, you'll discover not only the Hirzer plateau with its many walks from alpine hut to alpine hut, but also magnificent views over the Merano basin and the surrounding valleys. Mountain huts and alpine inns welcome you with regional specialities and invite you to enjoy a well-earned break.
Hospitality is a way of life in the Hirzer hiking area. Thanks to the cable car, you can also set off on high-alpine hikes with ease. The summit of the Hirzer is a particular favourite among experienced mountaineers.
If you're hiking the E5 long-distance trail, you can conveniently shorten the St. Martin – Pfandler Alm Alp – Hirzer Hut section by taking the Hirzer cable car. Another highlight of the Hirzer plateau is the Tallner Sunntige.
